NONLINEAR was written and produced by Michael Rubin, a long-time missionary for nonlinear editing tools. Rubin has been dedicated to the use and proliferation of "desktop" video technology for over two decades.

Rubin has lectured about post-production, new media, media philosophy and history (as well as entrepreneurship) at universities and seminars internationally. He is presently a director at Netflix.
Ron Diamond worked with Michael in revising both the 3rd and 4th editions of the book. He also co-created the original NONLINEAR website. Ron is an independent editor and consultant in the Los Angeles area.
